Hello, I’m Andy.
How strange…. I have tried to write this paragraph 3
times now and can’t quite put into words why I take
these pictures…
I suppose it comes down to one word: payback.
I have a pretty good life and in many ways I’ve been
fortunate, this is simply a way to show my gratitude & a
way to pay my karmic debt to the universe.
In doing so I have met some wonderful people with huge
hearts and hopefully in some small ways I have improved
some lives, matching homeless animals with their human
counterparts. Frankly even if you got a smile or two
from looking at my little picture gallery then my
efforts have been worthwhile.
Work keeps me busy but I try to make it to the SPCA
shelter once each week for a half day to take some
photos of our new ‘inmates’.
At home with me right now are the two black cats that
you will have seen a few times in the photo gallery.
They are brothers, the only two survivors from a litter
and I adopted them as stringy little kittens from the
SPCA center in Orlando a few years ago. Their comical
purr-sonalities and antics still make me smile every
day.
A couple of quotes from the Science Fiction writer
Robert Heinlein:
“If you would know a man, observe how he treats a dog or
cat.”
“Women
and cats will do as they please, men and dogs should
basically relax and get used to the idea.”
