Select 'File' (drop-down)and then 'Open....'

Browse for the picture you want to edit, click once on it, and select 'Open.' Paint Shop Pro has a nice image preview that makes it very easy to find the right picture.

At the left, on the toolbar, select the crop tool.

Click and hold down the mouse and drag over the area of the photo you want to keep. If you want to change the area selected but you have already released the mouse button, simply use the back arrow just below the effect tab.

If you area you square in looks good to you, click on 'Image,' tab (drop-down) to 'Resize....'

It should look like this, cange the resolution to 72 pixels/inch.

Next, change the width (in the top selection box) to 600, set the units to pixels, then click 'OK.'

The picture has now been resized. To view it at 100% magnification, look on the middle right menu and set the preview value to 100.

Now Save as, by Clicking on 'File,' then 'Save As....'

In the window that pops up, select the save destination. Change the file name to be the animal's name and yours (optional date),  There should be no spaces in the filename. Select JPEG as the 'Save as type.' Once you click 'Save,' you're done!
